Rob Pattinson RPattz200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Because of the production schedule for "New Moon", Robert Pattinson is dropping out of "Parts Per Billion," an independent film that would have teamed the actor with Rosario Dawson and Juno star Olivia Thirlby.

Meantime, fans should find out this week if Taylor Lautner will get to keep the role of Jacob Black in "New Moon."

Taylor's been doing everything in his power to hang on to the role. He's reportedly put on nearly 20 pounds of muscle and is working on adding another 10 pounds.

''My job for Twilight was to bring Twilight Jacob to life — the friendly, happy-go-lucky little Jacob,'' Taylor told MTV News.

''My job for New Moon is completely different. I've been looking forward to that. I've been getting ready for it, and I can assure them I will follow through with that.''
