madonnashoes200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna has offered to donate one of her favorite pairs of Christian Dior shoes to a charity supporting Gypsy child education, reports the Associated Press. A pair of gold heels, which are autographed by the material girl, will be sold at the Ovidiu Rom annual ball in late October.

Last August Madonna was booed onstage in Bucharest when she said she believed the discrimination against eastern Europe’s gypsies should end, but it looks like she does have some supporters.

Leslie Hawke, actor Ethan Hawke's mother and president of Ovidiu Rom, told the AP, "Madonna’s very mild comment regarding equality shone a spotlight on a common European attitude toward Gypsies. We’re thrilled to have her donation because she is such an icon of innovation and vigor and ‘can do’ spirit."
