Courts to Nicole: Plea, Don't Flee!

Hmm...I wonder where the idea for a continuance came from?Looks like the Summer of Screwed Starlets isn't set to let up anytime soon - we've learned that Nicole Richie won't be given a continuance on her looming court date for her DUI!
The starlet's lawyer had filed to push the diminutive diva's day in court back until early August (this coming just a few weeks after having it pushed back to the current date), but a clerk for the court confirmed that Richie has instead been offered a plea bargain, which she's got 24 hours to accept!
Originally, this caused a stir given Richie's current out-of-the-country status (she's in Canada for Joel's concert), but the clerk made sure to state that she would NOT have to be present for the hearing (scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30 AM), contrary to what other websites are reporting. At tomorrow's hearing, she'll either be sentenced or a trial date will be set. We'll be sure to bring you updates as we get 'em, so stay tuned!
