That's right, folks! Brit's label Jive has decided to
move up the release date of our girl's latest album
Blackout to October 30th! (It was originally dropping on November 13th.) Why? Because Jive Records "wants to put a stop to the unauthorized leaking of Spears' songs onto the internet." As we all know, a lot of Britney's "unfinished material and demos" has illegally leaked onto blogs, which is not cool.
The upside is we get to hear Britney's new tracks that much earlier - this is going to make Halloween even
better!
Britney and Jive certainly did pick an interesting day to combat internet leaks - after all, just a few hours ago Radiohead released their whole new album to the internet for virtually nothing, substantially due to their inability to stop the internet from hearing it early! Whose response to piracy do you think will be more effective - Britney's or Radiohead's?
