What Happened to Jake's Beard?

A clean-shaven Jake Gyllenhaal has been spending a lot of time with former co-star, Reese Witherspoon, but Friday night, X17 photogs caught him out alone, wearing a Livestrong hat and no beard. Where was Reese? 
Ok, so he wasn't totally alone, he was with this guy. Who is this guy anyway?
