Jamie Lynn Spears JLSPEARSBOYFRIEND1218_26.jpg Sharp-eyed Spears fans have been raising a significant question since yesterday - namely, if Casey's 19 and Jamie Lynn's 16, then shouldn't the cops be called?

Well, Us Magazine did some digging - and apparently, it all comes down to the when and the where!

After cracking the books and sorting through the statutes, Us came up with the following summary of the legal situation Casey might be facing:

However, if it happened in Spears' home state of Louisiana, and if Aldridge was 19 at the time, he could be charged with what the state calls "felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile," which is defined as "sexual intercourse with consent between someone age 19 or older and someone between age 12 and 17."

And if Casey happened to be younger than 19? Depending on which state the conception occurred in, "he might be charged with a misdemeanor."

The magazine, however, makes sure to point out that a complaint has yet to be filed against Casey, and that "no criminal investigation is currently underway."

That's some good luck for Casey - after all, he's got more than enough to keep his mind occupied at the moment!
