Britney's pal Sam tells X17online that Britney is heading back to court this morning to be deposed for her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Britney was holed up at her house all day yesterday preparing for the deposition, which promises to be quite emotional.

The newly brunette Spears and her legal team will meet with Kevin's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, in his law offices where she'll answer his questions under oath.

Although Kevin retains physical custody at the moment, a permanent custody arrangement has yet to be decided.

No word yet on when (or if!) Kevin will be deposed by Brit's attorneys.
