Life & Style is reporting that Britney's dad has "angrily banned the family from any involvement or participation with Dr. Phil's planned Britney-intervention episode," according to a source in Dr. Phil's camp.

Apparently, the Spears paterfamilias was sparked by some broken promises: "Dr. Phil had told Jamie everything would be off the record until the show was done," the mag's source reports.

But once Jamie got wind of the public statements Dr. Phil had been making about his daughter - "including assessments of her conditions," the mag points out - he hit the roof!

"Jamie was totally incensed that Dr. Phil, who he knows a little because Lynne is friends with Dr. Phil's wife, was using Britney for self-promotion."

Sounds like this one's just heating up!
