Sugar, We're Not Going Down To Antarctica

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz may have melted a million hearts in his day - but he's not quite so lucky with the polar ice caps!
MTV is reporting that Fall Out Boy's attempt to set a world record by becoming the first band to perform on all seven continents in under nine months - an attempt which had been scheduled for today - will have to be put on hold due to poor weather conditions in Antarctica. Jeez, they didn't see that one coming?
At least the band's determination to set the record doesn't seem to have flagged - lead singer Patrick Stump even admitted to the network that the band was "sort of aware that this might happen, but, to be honest, we're just hoping some other band doesn't slip in by boat or something and set the world record right under our noses."
Fortunately, the band may get another shot tomorrow; until then, they're just waiting around in Chile for the weather to clear up. Too bad Ashlee isn't there to help Pete pass the time, huh?
Don't worry, guys - whenever you make it down there, FOB's guaranteed to be the biggest act to play Antarctica since the Elvis-impersonating penguins!
