We weren't surprised to see Britney Spears out at Dominick's for dinner last night - after all, the restaurant's a personal favorite of the pop princess.

We were, however, extremely surprised to see her by herself (well, without one of her parents playing chaperone) - for the first time in what seems like months!

Britney was on her best behavior, too - instead of stopping to chitchat with the paps, she did her best to act as if her father were watching: she hopped straight into the back seat of the car without playing for the cameras.

Atta girl, Brit - keep showing your dad that you can handle yourself and he'll be off your back in no time!
