David Beckham may be a god on the soccer field - but he's not afraid to get in touch with his inner child!
The Daily Mail reports that the soccer star has been invited to help kick off the legendary kids' show, teaching Elmo the word "persistent" during the show's Word on the Street segment.
"David has always been a huge fan of the show," a source tells the Mail. "When he was a kid he watched it, like a lot of people, and knew all the characters. He was more than happy to go on."
Other celebrity guests set to appear on the season's debut include Heidi Klum, Jenny McCarthy, Jack Black, and Jessica Alba.
Too bad they couldn't get David to sing along with the "Six soccer socks" song - he'd be a natural!
We love seeing stars do something special for the kiddies!
