Though Anne Hathaway was thrown into the spotlight courtesy of her slimeball ex-boyfriend and the drama surrounding their breakup and his arrest, she has proven to the world that she can handle just about anything. Not only is she gorgeous and talented, but she is professional, classy and the kind of young woman who can certainly be viewed as a role model. While so many other stars her age have been busy getting DUIs or causing scenes in public, Hathaway has been working on film after film, continuing to impress us with her acting abilities and her maturity.

In July, just weeks after her split from Italian businessman con man Raffaello Follieri, Hathaway sat down with W Magazine and gave them the scoop on her personal and professional life. She was with Follieri for four years prior to his arrest on June 24, and as the story goes, Hathaway dumped him just hours before the feds arrested him. This morning he plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and five counts of money laundering in a Manhattan courtroom. Follieri will be sentenced on October 3, and he'll likely spend the next 4-5 years behind bars. Hathaway was rumored to have a hand in Follieri's arrest, and the media went crazy over her - she was suddenly all over the news, and she had to deal with crap like public criticism from Donald Trump. In the article titled "Queen Anne," the rising starlet is surprisingly candid about her feelings and what she's been through over the past few months.

    On how she's coping:

“Right now I don’t have the wherewithal to be anything except professional. As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a press tour for Get Smart. And then I spent a week in shock at a friend’s house. And then I had to go back and do more press, and I haven’t stopped since."

On how her friends were there for her after the breakup:

“It’s a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden...But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, ‘Go stay at my house.’ And Steve Carell [her Get Smart costar] stepped up for me during an interview when someone asked a question [about it]. He said, ‘At some point you’re going to have to talk about this time in your life. You don’t have to do it this week. I’ll take care of anything that comes your way.’ I’ve been shown such kindness. Not everyone gets that. A lot of people go through tough times alone.”

Hathaway goes on to discuss her latest film, Rachel Getting Married, which is about a drug addict named Kym who throws her family for a loop when she takes a break from rehab to attend her sister's wedding. It's a darker, meatier role for the 25-year-old actress, and it's one that she got very involved in - she even went as far as to develop a handwriting style for Kym, who chain smokes and has a choppy, dark hairstyle very different from anything the actress would sport. The film hits theaters on October 3, which is, oddly enough, the same day her ex will be sentenced.
