Brit's Lawyers Want the Trial Stopped

Britney's lawyers have filed a "request for stay" in her misdemeanor driving without a license trial. Cops busted Britney for not having a California driver's license following a fender bender last year when she hit a parked car. The lawyers are asking the Judge in the case to suspend the trial until the issue of Britney's conservatorship is resolved. They're also asking for the case to be dismissed, saying Brit should be allowed to pay a $10 fine and not face a criminal trial

The motion was filed this afternoon according to a source at the Los Angeles county courthouse. Her lawyers say this trial should be halted because Britney's condition doesn't allow her to "...participate meaningfully in her defense."

Britney father, Jaime Spears, has been in control of her personal and financial affairs since February.
