WTF happened to Jude Law?

In Afghanistan, to promote the the United Nations' seventh annual International Day of Peace (where he brought his documentary The Day After Peace), Jude Law was sporting a close-cropped cut and some extra bloat that made him look almost unrecognizable from the former heart-throb who became famous for portraying playboys (on AND off the screen!)

We hope his transformation's for his role in King Conqueror!
