Indy Spirit Award Nominations Announced

Anne Hathaway's "Rachel Getting Married" was nominated for six 2009 Film Independent's Spirit Awards on Tuesday.The film's six nods tied the film with "Ballast" and "Frozen River" for the most nominations.
"Rachel Getting Married" earned nominations for best feature, best director for Jonathan Demme, best first screenplay for Jenny Lumet, best female lead for Anne Hathaway and best supporting female for Rosemarie DeWitt and Debra Winger.
Sean Penn was nominated for best male lead for his performance in "MILK."
James Franco received a best supporting male nomination for his work in the same film.
The 2009 Film Independent Spirit Awards ceremony will be broadcast on the Independent Film Channel on Feb. 21.
