Is Jamie's Control Over Brit Too Much??

Britney Spears is back on top with a fab bod and a hit album, but is it only due to her father's tough love? Hmm...

Sharon Churcher from the Daily Mail reports that, back in March 2002, had a "terrifying encounter" with Jamie Spears in Kentwood, Louisiana. Among other things, the DM reporter claims Jamie "had been drinking heavily and was chewing Kodiak tobacco," gave her a "hostile drunken monologue while refusing to let me leave" and, finally, "picked up a large carving knife and theatrically stabbed it into the wooden table" every time she got up to leave.

And that's not all - Churcher claims that Jamie said the following: "There's not a man on earth could be happier than me. I have got the most famous daughter in the world... I squandered my money on wild women and beer."

She adds that Jamie attempted to give her a "drunken hug" and confided in her that he was broke.

This article certainly poses a lot of questions, if any/all of this is in fact true, but we have to wonder - why did this take so many years to come out? Why now??
