We Gave The Cops The Evidence, Now When Will They Give It Back???

Last week, when David Beckham came to a photog's window to grab the guy's camera and then Becks' bodyguards came to their boss' "aid" to beat down the pap and eventually throw his camera in the trash, breaking it, a videographer stood by, recording the entire incident.
That pap willingly OFFERED his tape to the police (without them even asking) -- even though he knew it could fetch some serious dough -- in an effort to help his friend by providing evidence he thought would absolve his pap pal of guilt and show that David Beckham's bodyguards were to blame for the physical confrontation that left the photographer roughed up and out about $8000 in gear. In fact, the police even said the shooter would get his tape back the next day ...
So it's been a week now and despite that videographer visiting the Beverly Hills police department and speaking with the investigator almost every day, he still doesn't have the tape back. The detective said that if his forensics department had time to make a duplicate of the tape, they would -- but it hasn't happened yet.
Are the police hard at work, trying to decipher this brief recording? Are they conducting countless interviews with the ZERO witnesses that stepped forward at the scene? Are they in discussions with David's attorneys?
The tape doesn't lie ... and we can't wait to see it! Let's hope it actually makes it back to its rightful owner!
