And by public, I mean The Ivy! This must be the real deal! Then again, Paris and Doug create a photo frenzy wherever they go, so it's not like dinner at the famed Robertson Boulevard restaurant is any different from their other activities...

Anyway, Doug, Paris, and her parents Kathy and Rick went on a double date at The Ivy last night, and sources tell X17online exclusively that Doug passed the parental test with flying colors!

Earlier in the day, the four were at the BFF mansion shooting scenes for Miss P's second season of "My New BFF," and on set sources tell us Doug and Kathy got along "beautifully." One source added, "Doug has impreccable manners and is a total gentleman. Kathy thinks he's such an intelligent, nice, down to earth man and she seems thrilled with her daughter's new boyfriend."

Well, P & D have both met one another's parents so what's next?!
