Angelina Jolie Attends War Crimes Trial

See, the mother of six isn't just about shooting movies and being Brad's babe...
Angelina Jolie is in the Netherlands (The Hague, specifically) at the International Criminal Court today to watch a group of children testify against Congolese militia leader Thomas Lubanga.
The prosecution has accused Lubanga and his militia of abducting children - under the age of 15 - to fight for him during the civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which came to an end back in '03. Young kids were allegedly "beaten and drugged" while the girls were also allegedly "used as sex slaves." Lubanga pleads not guilty.
Ms. Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the UN, says the following:
- "I imagined how difficult it must be for all the brave young children who have come to testify against him. Children deserve special protection. Using children in conflict is a heinous crime and destroys the very fabric of a society."
You kinda hafta ignore any negative feelings you might have for Angelina when you realize she's using her celebrity power to bring attention to important matters like this. Hopefully justice will be served!
