Twilight and Slumdog Millionaire Top The Nominees List For The 2009 MTV Movie Awards

It's that time of the year! You know, when the MTV Movie Awards nominees are announced! This year, Twilight snagged seven nominations, including Best Movie, Best Female Performance and Breakthrough Performance Male, while Slumdog Millionaire earned six nominations, including Best Movie, Breakthrough Performance Female and Breakthrough Performance Male.
The other flicks rounding out the Best Movie category are The Dark Knight, High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Iron Man.
In addition to Rob Pattinson (Twilight) and Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), the Breakthrough Performance Male category consists of Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) and Bobb'e J. Thompson (Role Models). The Breakthrough Performance Female selections include Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Ashley Tisdale (HSM 3), Vanessa Hudgens (HSM 3) and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana: The Movie).
The Best Female Performance nominees include Kristin Stewart (Twilight), Anne Hathaway (Bride Wars), Angelina Jolie (Wanted) and Kate Winslet (The Reader), while other Best Male Performance noms went to Zac Efron (HSM 3), Shia LaBeouf (Eagle Eye) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Tropic Thunder).
Best Fight nominees include Christian Bale and Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) and Seth Rogen, James Franco and Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), while the Best Kiss category pits Twilight (Stewart and Pattinson) against Slumdog Millionaire (Pinto and Patel), Milk (James Franco and Sean Penn), and I Love You, Man (Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon).
MTV will also introduce two new categories at this year's show - Best Song From a Movie and Best WTF Moment. Can't wait to see who takes home the golden popcorn for that last one!
