mileysaddened.jpg We already told you about the bus crash that killed a member of Miley Cyrus' tour crew earlier this morning, and now Miley and her family have spoken out about the fatal accident.

The following message was posted on Miley's official website:

    “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill “Uncle Bill” Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed.”


According to a press release, Virginia State Police are still investigating the crash that occurred just after 8AM this morning. The statement reads:

    "The bus was traveling in the southbound lanes of I-85 when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned onto its right side. The nine passengers on the bus were able to exit the vehicle through the front windshield. The driver of the bus, William G. Douglas, 53, of Austin, Texas, died at the scene.

    Marty Zilio, 48, of Canada, was injured in the crash. Zilio was transported by ambulance to Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg for treatment of minor injuries.

    The bus belongs to Roberts Brothers Coach Co. and was hired for the Miley Cyrus tour. Those riding on the bus are part of her production crew. It was one of four buses traveling south on I-85 to Greensboro, N.C. Cyrus was not on the bus, nor traveling with the group at the time of the crash.

    The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time."
