Family, friends and fans alike were shocked to hear of the sudden death of 32-year-old actress Brittany Murphy Sunday morning, but ex-boyfriend Ashton Kutcher (seen here shopping at Maxfield Saturday) was one of the first celebs to speak out about her untimely death.

"2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon," Ashton tweeted not long after her death was reported. "See you on the other side, kid," he wrote minutes later.

Brittany Murphy was found unconscious in the shower this morning by her mother, Sharon Murphy, and was in full cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived, according to reports. She was pronounced dead on arrival at a Los Angeles hospital.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, but the authorities say they do not suspect foul play.
