Despite the fact that she seems to be unable to open her mouth when she talks, Blake Lively has somehow managed to impress the producers of The Green Lantern, landing the female lead opposite hottie Ryan Reynolds.

Heat Vision reports that Blake beat out rumored contenders Jennifer Garner and Keri Russell to play the role of Carol Ferris, which was originally intended to be filled by an older actress.

But the Gossip Girl star apparently wowed studio bosses with her work in Ben Affleck's gritty drama, The Town.

So will this be a whole new Blake for 2010?
