leno071009_01_X17.jpg We're hearing rumors that NBC will be moving The Jay Leno Show back to a later time slot, and the network has revealed that we will be seeing some changes to the television program.

NBC released the following statement:

"Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today. As we have said all along, Jay’s show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network. It has, however, presented some issues for our affiliates. Both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with them to find ways to improve the performance.”

Much was made about Jay's move to 10pm this past fall, as it was a radical decision that affected other networks along with millions of viewers. Since there have been so many complaints from affiliates who are upset about Leno's numbers affecting their own, there are several theories as to what will happen with the show. While it's possible that the show could be cancelled, there is also talk that it may move back to its original 11:30pm time slot. Additionally, it could be altered so that it only airs once a week, but we won't know anything for sure until NBC speaks again.

So what does that mean for Conan O'Brien and his program? If Jay's show gets pushed back, Conan has to go somewhere! Or would Jay be the one getting the boot?
