carriebigscreen.jpg Country music star Carrie Underwood will be joining Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt and AnnaSophia Robb in the indie drama Soul Surfer, which tells the story of shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton.

Variety reports that Robb will play Hamilton, the teenage girl who defied all odds when she won a professional surf competition after losing her arm in a shark attack at age 13. Quaid and Hunt play her parents, and Underwood has sign on for the role of a church youth leader.

Bethany's story is a very inspiring one, so we can't wait to see this come to the big screen.
