Sean Penn Hopes His Critics "Die Screaming Of Rectal Cancer"

He always did have a way with words! Here's the sitch...

The 49-year-old actor has helped provide aid to the Haiti relief effort - he visited the nation, brought 11 doctors with him and even established a private organization - and critics are saying his efforts are hypocritical: After all, he's just gone through a nasty split with wife Robin Wright. Isn't he just doing this to repair his image?

So in an interview with CBS News' Sunday Morning, Sean Penn has this to say:

"I guess I've been so away from it all - and our tent camp in Haiti that I haven't had an awful lot of time to pay attention to them. You know, do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I'm not going to spend a lot of energy on it."

Ouch! Sure, he may not be the best husband, but it takes a lot of courage to actually venture over to Haiti and do the work yourself. He's a celeb - what's wrong with using your power for a good cause?
