Katherine Heigl was in New York last night to be honored by the ASPCA, who feted the former Grey's Anatomy star with the Presidential Service Award at the organization's 13th Annual Bergh Ball.Katherine, who started the charity Hounds of Hope to help save dogs from kill shelters in honor of her late brother Jason, an animal lover, told ET at the ball that "Life is great, it's really family oriented right now which feels fantastic, and feels as it should be." Katherine gushed about her adopted daughter, who is "still so new in our lives."
"They change every month so monumentally that every month she's a new kid. She just started walking this weekend, she started talking more last month, and if I were missing that right now, I would just be devastated," Heigl said, referring to her decision to leave her hit show to spend more time at home. I'm gonna miss [the show] for sure, I'm still a working mom, but I'm really grateful that I have the time with her that I do now."
Awww, she's so warm and fuzzy since she stopped working on Grey's!
