Christina Aguilera is the World Food Programme’s newest Ambassador Against Hunger, and the pop diva visited two schools in earthquake-stricken Haiti earlier this week to meet the children receiving food aid through WFP school meal programs.
Christina sang “Happy Birthday†to the children to highlight how reconstruction efforts in the country "are giving this long-suffering nation the chance of a new start," according to the WFP website, and she also met with WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran.
Xtina announced her involvement with the organization on Oprah last week, telling the talk show host, “A child dies every six seconds of hunger which is a huge statistic for me. After having my own child I just had to be a part of it and do something about it and help change that situation.â€Â
Good to see her letting her hair down and getting involved with a charity rather than barking at people for coughing during interviews!
