Brad Pitt Joins Committee To Bring World Cup To The US

Brad Pitt has accepted an invitation to join the Board of Directors for the USA Bid Committee in its quest to bring the FIFA World Cup to the United States in 2018 or 2022.
Famous folks such as Spike Lee, Gavin Rossdale and Arnold Schwarzenegger are also on the committee, and Brad released the following statement on his involvement:
The United States and the eight competing bids each submitted their official bid books to FIFA at a formal ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland last month, and Sunil Gulati, Chairman of the USA Bid Committee and President of U.S. Soccer said, “Brad’s exposure to global culture throughout his career, along with his connection to soccer through his family has given him a unique understanding of the unifying aspect of the game. His consistent philanthropic efforts exemplify the bid’s desire to utilize soccer as a tool of positive change. We welcome Brad to our board of directors.â€Â
