Look very closely and you'll see that the ends of Ashlee Simpson's hair are far lighter than her roots -- we're not sure if this is a new dip dye style or what, but she's definitely embracing her inner hippie hottie here! And is it just me, or does she look a little Katie Holmes-y here?

The singer/actress was snapped leaving Ken Paves salon in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon, and we're not sure if she actually got her hair done, but she spent time with Eva Longoria and other charitable folks at the Rally for Kids with Cancer fundraiser. Simpson tweeted, "Come check the makeover madness rally for kids with cancer at the Ken Paves Salon today! I'm here and its fab!"
