bradangie230.jpgBrad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have settled a privacy claim against British tabloid News of the World.

The tabloid reported back in January that the celebrity couple were planning to split ... and in the process, they were making plans to divide their assets reportedly worth over $300 million. Also addressed in the story ... plans to arrange custody for their six kids.

Immediately after the report surfaced, Brad and Angie argued that the tabloid made "false and intrusive allegations."

After their victorious win yesterday in London's High Court, the couple's attorney released this statement:

"When the News of the World failed to publicly retract the allegations and apologize for them — thereby leaving their readers in the dark as to the true position — the couple felt they had no alternative than to sue. Today's victory marks the end of the litigation brought by Brad and Angelina."

The couple agreed to accept an undisclosed amount in damages. No word on whether they're donating the money to charity.
