Sorry to break the news!
I know Lindsay Lohan and her lawyer Robert Shapiro are doing their darndest to keep the troubled 24-year-old out of jail, but will a sober house cut it? Judge Marsha Revel has already made her decision!
Just a week before Lindsay is supposed to turn herself in, the actress has checked herself into Pickford Lofts, a Los Angeles sober house founded by Shapiro himself. Advertising itself as "transitional living for people in recovery," Pickford Lofts offers support meetings and 12-step work - not to mention a flat screen TV and deluxe furnishings in every loft, as well as a shared gymnasium and rec facility! - but it is not a rehabilitation and treatment center.
In fact, it kinda sounds more like a luxury spa! Not that there's anything wrong with that, but a sober house is intended as a post-rehab step in a person's drug and alcohol recovery. LiLo has attempted rehab not once, not twice, but three times! And it didn't work. So is a sober house a logical place for her? What can it even offer someone in Lindsay's situation other than a comfortable living environment?
To sum up, a sober house ≠rehab! I'm sure the facility could be beneficial if Linds was in a later state of recovery, but right now she needs some tough love. And the judge already sentenced her to jail. Time to take responsibility and face the music!
