britneylaughlogo230.jpgRyan Murphy, creator of Glee, has confirmed that Britney Spears will be making an appearance on an upcoming Britney-themed episode of the hit FOX show.

Murphy tells Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM, "I can say 100 percent that Britney Spears will be on the episode."

During the interview, Murphy explains to Seacrest:

"The Britney episode ... is so reverential about her and so kind and it's about her music and it's not about her personal life ... Britney Spears is pop culture and I think she's been through a lot and I want to do something that says ... thank you for what you've done and we're encouraging you to continue to be doing as fantastic as you are."

He says, "We're handling Britney with kid gloves." As for how Brit's songs will be used during the episode, Murphy adds that they will be featured in fantasy sequences while the characters are under anesthesia at the dentist's office "and that's when the fun Britney stuff happens."

Glee will feature tributes to Prince, The Beatles and Michael Jackson in future episodes.

Murphy is on a roll these days. He's also the director of Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts.
