melgibsonlogo.jpgMel Gibson was involved in a car accident on Malibu Canyon Road last night, but managed to walk away unharmed. DUI is "not suspected," however reports claim that the actor may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

The CHP confirms to X17online that Gibson, 54, lost control of his 2008 Maserati at 8:35pm and struck a rocky hillside. No other parties were involved in the wreck, and the incident is being treated as "property damage."

Gibson's car was towed from the scene.

Back in July 2006, Gibson was arrested in Malibu for driving under the influence. It was during that arrest that the actor went on the now-infamous anti-Semitic rant. In October 2009, a judge agreed to expunge Mel Gibson's conviction since he had completed the terms of his probation which included attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, performing public service announcements and paying $1,300 in fines.
