The Kardashian family has distanced themselves from a MasterCard deal that their attorneys say, "threatens everything for which [The Kardashians] have worked." The plastic card, featuring a photo of the three sisters, has been advertised as the Kardashian Kard.

According to a "Notice of Termination," the family states a "negative spotlight" was put on the venture after the Attorney General of Connecticut associated the credit card with possible violations against consumer protection laws.

The Attorney General voiced concern over several fees including $9.95 to own one, a $7.95 per month fee for twelve months and $1.50 charge every time the owner adds money to the pre-paid card.

In the public notice, the family's lawyer writes, "The Kardashians have worked extremely long and hard to create a positive public persona that appeals to everyone, particularly young adults."

The Kardashians have terminated the MasterCard deal "effective immediately."
