After Miley Cyrus' scandalous bong-smoking images hit the web (which featured the 18-year-old lighting up what was supposedly the legal drug salvia), more than just her reputation has suffered.

Producers have reportedly been forced to re-tool a pot-smoking scene from Miley's upcoming film LOL, using computer-generated effects to show her abstaining from the popular drug.

"The scene can't be reshot," a source tells Us, saying that through "tricky editing and effects magic, they are erasing all traces of her inhaling or being in the same shot with the actor."

Apparently, the studio doesn't want Miley's real-life antics to affect how audiences accept her performance in the film, which features Miley as a teenager who loses her virginity, smokes pot, gets wasted and kisses two girlfriends on the lips.

"The studio doesn't want to take any chances having the controversy affect the film," says the source.

But the film seems plenty controversial on its own, would one scene showing Miley smoking pot really change that?
