The snow finally stopped falling yesterday but the ground was covered in the white stuff and Sarah Jessica Parker and hubby Matthew Broderick decided to brave the elements to run some errands after being locked inside for days of intense cold and snow.

Today the thermometer topped off at about 45 degrees today but yesterday when we spotted the couple out and about, it was still considerably colder.

City workers scrambled to clear snow in Times Square for New Year's revelers last night. Trash was picked up for the first time in a week today. Mayor Bloomberg has acknowledged the city's shortcomings in handling the unexpected weather saying a "good year" ended on a sour note.

We hope SJP and Matt's year end was better. By the smiles on their faces, we're guessing they enjoyed some family time at home!
