Ocean Drive magazine has nabbed luscious Sofia Vergara as their 18th anniversary cover girl, and they have definitely chosen wisely.

The sexy Modern Family star donned some major curve-hugging designer duds for the sultry shots, and opens up to the mag about being a hot Latina star on an all-American TV show.

Vergara reveals:

“One of the things I’m very proud of is the fact that I am representing Latin culture with an accent so strong that I don’t understand half the things I say myself, but it’s good that there can be a loud Latina woman acting crazy on American television. America is ready for more Latin culture mixed in with its own."

We agree with the gorgeous star. America is definitely ready for more Vergara action! But the hottie also reveals something else we didn't know. In 2002, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The actress explains:

“It was a tough thing for me, but it made me much stronger. I have family and I’m a mother, and I knew I could get through it.”
