scarjodadfalls230.jpgScarlett Johansson's father Karsten collapsed near his West Village, New York home on Wednesday, and he was taken to the Bellevue Hospital Center where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.

Surveillance video showed Johansson walking down Charles Street, and moments later his knees buckled and he fell head-first into the road. "Family members stated he’s suffered from an aneurism in the past," a source tells the NY Post.

Daughter Scarlett was in Los Angeles at the time of the accident, and it's not known whether she will go ahead and appear as a presenter at this Sunday’s Academy Awards.
