Ms. Hudgens took a break from her busy NYC fashion week schedule to pick up a more permanent accessory ... a large butterfly tattoo.

The Beastly star stopped by New York tattoo shop Bang Bang Tattoos, a celebrity-fave, to get inked on the back of her neck. And while it looks like it was pretty painful, it's definitely a thing of beauty.

We can't help but wonder if Vanessa got the new ink because her five year-relationship with Zac just ended? People often get tattoos to mark an important turning point in their lives, and we're betting this butterfly means something special to the starlet.

Bang Bang Tattoos has inked Chris Brown, Eve, Swizz Beatz, Katy Perry, and Rihanna, to name a few. This is the tattoo shop where Rihanna stopped by to get the gun inked on her right side, after all the drama with Chris Brown went down. A BBT artist also did the "Shhhhh" scrawl on her finger, and even allowed the singer to tattoo one of their own artists at the shop. Consequentially, they received a lot of flack for allowing an individual with no license to use the tattoo machinery at their shop, considering there are "sanitary" issues involved.
