Mel Gibson Skips Beaver Premiere, Turns Himself In To Police For Booking On Misdemeanor Battery Charges

Mel Gibson was officially charged last Friday with misdemeanor battery for allegedly assaulting his ex Oksana Grigorieva. The judge gave the 55-year-old actor one week to turn himself in, and last night just after 9:00pm, Gibson followed those orders by surrendering to the El Segundo Police Department for booking.
Gibson's mugshot was taken and he was fingerprinted.
Ironically last night, his new movie The Beaver premiered at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas and for obvious reasons, Gibson was a no-show.
The actor will reportedly strike a plea deal to avoid jail time.
