3D Glee Movie To Hit Theaters In August

Glee is heading to the big screen, which seems like the next logical step considering the show has been everywhere else!In the vein of Justin Bieber's Never Say Never, which was a box office and critical success, GLEE! LIVE! 3D! (CAPITALS! EXCLAMATION POINTS!), will be based on the Glee Live! In Concert! North American tour.
Seriously, we get it. It's exciting.
20th Century Fox will release the film for a two-week run in theaters starting Aug. 12.
The movie will feature performances by series regulars Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., Chord Overstreet, Darren Criss and Ashley Fink.
The tour finishes June 18 in New York before moving to the UK. That will be Glee overseas!

A director with some experience in the song-and-dance film genre will direct the pic; see who after the jump.
That pic wasn't exactly a box office hit, but we predict Glee won't have the same problem.
