careynyc060409_02_baby230WM.jpgMariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon announced the names of their twins today ... their boy is Moroccan "Roc" Scott Cannon and their daughter is named Monroe Cannon. FYI ... Nick's middle name is Scott.

As for "Moroccan," Nick reportedly proposed to his wife in Mariah's NYC apartment in a room they call the "Moroccan Room." Mariah says she named her daughter after the late Marilyn Monroe who has been the singer's inspiration growing up.

The couple had teased the initials of the twins earlier this week on Twitter. Their rep says the naming process has been "a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.”
