The family have a vacation home at the mountain resort -- there's even a ski run named after the former governor and Arnold is known to enjoy the retreat as a private hideaway where he can escape Hollywood and be surrounded by his fellow wealthy friends who own homes there.

X17 last photographed Arnie on May 17 at his office -- the day the news broke he had fathered a child 13 years ago with his family's former housekeeper Mildred Baena. A source tells X17 he left town later that same day:

    "Arnold feels like he faced the music by staying in LA for a few days after the initial news broke of his separation from Maria and then he was just tired of having cameras in his face. He wanted to get away and stop living this scandal 24/7."


Schwarzenegger is now M.I.A. again, however. He hasn't been in the elite Idaho village (where Demi Moore and Bruce Willis also own homes) for a few days ...
