sprint120408_04_X17230WMphoto.jpgSinger Gavin DeGraw was hospitalized early Monday morning after being attacked by several assailants on the streets of New York.

The 34-year-old "In Love With A Girl" singer suffered cuts on his face and a broken nose just after 4 a.m. in the East Village neighborhood. Police say after the attack, DeGraw stumbled for several blocks and was then hit by a taxi.

A rep for the singer released the following statement:

    "Police are conducting an investigation of the attack. Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time. We have no information yet regarding his upcoming concert dates and promotion for his new album."
