On June 11th, Russell Armstrong was seen with his wife, Taylor, at her birthday party at Beso nightclub and restaurant in Hollywood.

TaylorArmstrongHusbandDead230.jpgX17 spoke with Russell at the time. He told us "things are good," and both he and Taylor denied reports that they were divorcing, calling the stories "completely false."

Russell even told us the secret to a good relationship. "Hard work and commitment," he said, smiling.

But in July, Taylor filed for divorce, alleging that Russell had been verbally and physically abusive to her. He did not deny the claims, saying he had pushed her and that being on Bravo's show had pushed the couple "to the limit."

The couple also reportedly had major financial problems. They were being sued for $1.5 million, and Russell, an investor, had filed for bankruptcy in 2005, claiming at the time that he had less than $50,000 in assets and was up to $10 million in debt.

Russell, 47, hanged himself Monday night at his apartment on Mulholland Drive and was pronounced dead by police.
