The Jackson family arrived at the L.A. County Courthouse Monday morning for the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's private physician who is accused of giving the King of Pop a lethal dose of propofol.
Jackson's mother Katherine, father Joe, and siblings Jermaine, Janet, Randy, Tito and LaToya were all in downtown LA to witness opening statements. Janet was not originally expected to attend this morning, but she arrived holding hands with her brother Randy.
The family largely stayed calm and quiet while walking into court. The big theme of the day from both the Jackson family and fans was justice, a word used while talking to the media and screamed from the sidewalk.
There were supporters for Jackson, and more surprisingly for Murray as well, lined up outside the courthouse. Signs from the King of Pop's fans ranged from "Justice is overdue for Michael. Can you feel it?" to "Doctors are supposed to heal not kill." Murray's proponents also held up posters defending the doctor, including "I support Dr. Conrad Murray an innocent man who must be exonerated."
While some fans peacefully sang, one confused Jackson supporter went as far as wearing a shirt with Murray's face and that read "Dr. Murder." He then began drinking what appeared to be Propofol, yelling, "If you do it right, it's fine."
