The season premiere of Two and a Half Men had tons of guest stars, but Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards was not one of them. But apparently, the show wanted her there!
Producers were hoping to have Denise, 40, play one of Charlie's exes during the opening funeral scene and would have paid her $100,000 for the role, according to Life & Style. "They wanted to bring back a real ex," a source told the mag.
Though word is that Denise does want to be on TV again, she knew that it wouldn't be in her best interest to make an appearance and ultimately said no to the offer. "Charlie would've gone crazy, and Denise knows where her bread is buttered," the insider said.
A bad idea? Maybe. But would it have been hilarious? Definitely!
As for Charlie, he had both nice and semi-mean things to say about Denise when he appeared on The Wendy Williams Show earlier this week. Wendy told Charlie she loved Denise, to which he replied, "Yeah, she's great." Then Wendy recalled Denise's interview with her last year, when Richards said that Charlie needs to be single ... and the actor totally agreed with his ex!
"Well I'm 0 for 3. A couple of things I don't do well -- marriage and drinking, so just quit both," Charlie said.
That's the least crazy thing he's said in a while!
