The always-shocking Lady Gaga donned sky-high stilt heels and some amazingly wild costumes for her Vanity Fair photo shoot with iconic photographer Annie Leibowitz in New York, on Monday.

Gaga's shoes were so incredibly tall, she actually lost her balance and topped over next to the hot dog stand -- but she never let go of her dog!

The native New Yorker spoke to MTV about her devotion to the City on the anniversary of 9/11, expressing, "I watched the towers fall from the roof of my school, holding all my best friends. Just, my affinity and my love and the relationship I have with New York City — it’s like the husband I never married."

The "Born This Way" singer also confessed many of the songs on her latest album are inspired by NYC including one entitled, "Marry the Night".
