Angelina Jolie is taking on her United Nations Goodwill Ambassador role once again, but this time she's headed to Libya for the first time.

The actress told Reuters on Tuesday:

"I have come to Libya for a variety of reasons, to see a country in transition at every level and to witness efforts to fully realize the promise of the Arab Spring. I will be meeting with officials from all sides, but above all, listening to the local people in the street. I am here to express solidarity with them."

Though Jolie has never visited the country before, she has met with Libyan refugees many times, including in Malta earlier this year.
